My Pride And Joy

I know this may be a surprise to you (thick with sarcasm), but I really love my wife.  I am not gonna make this a super long post, but I just really wanted to blog about that.  I really love my wife.  I love that I have never doubt my love for her.  I love that she is the only thing in ANY room (yes even a room with music, any kind of sporting board, a TempurPedic bed, Jack, OU, Family Guy, 24, etc.).  Why I have been so blessed with her I do not know.  I love that I have completely jacked Stevie Ray Vaughan’s song because I’m pretty sure its about her.  She really is my pride and my joy.  She is my Sarah Walker.

She is my Pam Beasley (and so much more).

Me And My Gang

No, I am not talking about the Rascal Flatts concert that we missed last week.  I am talking about my old band.  I miss those guys.  I didn’t really think about that before we left Texas.  I mean, yeah I thought about the friends that we wouldn’t have down the street anymore, but I didn’t think about the guys that  I wouldn’t be playing with anymore.  This has nothing to do with the new guys that I’m playing with now.  They are great!  They are new characters and new stories and friends.  But I still miss the old guys too.

I miss the beanie/toboggan guy and his wife and daughter (Graham).  I miss Bono/Blazer and his wife and kids (Scotty).  I miss the tall skinny bearded guy that wears the same shirt all the time and his wife and new baby (Kyle).  I miss that one dude from that 90′s band The Shake and his wife and kid (Todd).  But those were just the most recent.  I can’t leave out Aaron, Blaine, Jason, Mitch, Ethan, Evan, Michael, Don (the black guy who played bass and was all over the place), Jonathan, Todd, and Joey (hope I didn’t forget anyone).  We could go back even farther and there was Ted, Rhoads, Sappy, and Joey.

That was good times!  I love you guys!…assuming any of you read this blog…if you don’t then I don’t love you quite as much…but I still love you.  Here are just a couple pics of some of my boys. (more…)

Church Online

My wife and I had the priviledge of being a part of a very innovative church for the last several years.  God has used them to do some crazy stuff!  One of the things is to start an online church campus.  Yeah.  See?  I told you.  Crazy.  And awesome!  Today was my day off so I decided I would go to church.  Fortunately for me, there is an experience time online that is at 1 PM PDT.  Very cool.  So I went to church today with at lease 45 other people from all over the world!  See?  Crazy!  Here is a map that shows all the different places that people joined the campus from today.

Church Online MapYeah.  All those red dots are people!  All over the US, Europe, South America, Australia, The Middle East, South Africa, India.  So cool.  At one point I looked and there were 35 different countries represented.  That’s amazing.

Dave Ramsey, the financial guru, spoke today (and will for the next 2 weeks) about Godly finances.  Obviously if we pay much attention to the world right now, we know that the entire world needs to learn this stuff.  I truly don’t understand why the US government doesn’t hire Dave.  Might be a smart move.  I just think it is so cool to see someone like Dave team up with a church and present the truth about money and God.  I can’t wait to hear him for the next 2 weeks.  Personally my wife and I are working on getting out of debt (might be a little easier if Rosa would stop breaking down) and so hearing from Dave is very beneficial to us!  You should check it out here!  You might even meet someone that lives nearby!  I know my wife has met people that live in the same town as we do.  I got to talk to Andy, Brandon and Bobby in the lobby today.  I haven’t seen them in quite a while.

Hopefully Not The Final Frontier

Space, The Final Frontier

Well, this past week my wife and I have embarked on a new journey.  We haven’t really talked about it much with anyone else, but we are pretty excited about it.  But I also haven’t discussed talking with others about this either so for now I am just going to be very vague.  Don’t you just love that?  But for now, let’s just say that we are looking at a new (to us) way to minister to people and hope that God will use it in some great ways.  Like I said, we just started on this idea/thought/process and it will be quite a while before we would actually reach a final goal.  Plus there is a ton involved that I know NOTHING about as well as that God may have different plans for us.  But for now, things seem to be flowing pretty well and lots of thoughts and ideas and creativity are coming to our minds!  I will keep you posted and at some point we will break the news about what it is that we are doing.  But I will just leave it at this.  This new project has nothing to do with church or moving or a child popping out of my wife.  So don’t worry…but please pray (if you can for something this vague)!

The Saga Continues!

Lego Star Wars

Yes it does!  The saga continues.  What saga am I talking about, you ask?  Well, I’m not talking about Star Wars.  It’s not Rambo or Rocky (is it just me or is it funny that these two Stallone movies start with r’s and are 5 letters and went much longer than they should have?).  I’m not even talking about the Die Hards.  Those of you that guessed the P. Diddy & The Bad Boy Family album are also wrong.  Could it be the Bret Favre “I’m really retiring this time” story or the fact that no one in their right mind should sign TO?  No!  They are all wrong! Desire Vs. Need

I have been thinking about this for a while now.  I really don’t have much of a plan for this post so I guess we will just see where it goes.  It’s just something that has been on my mind.  We all know there is a major difference between the things that we want and the things that we need.  Maybe I want an HD 1080p big screen TV.  Do I need that?  (KK don’t read this next part.  Please skip ahead to the next paragraph.)  No.  I don’t need that.  Maybe I want one of the new Jeep Unlimited 4×4, 4 doors to be my dad car when we have kids.  Do I need that?  (KK, I told you to stop reading this…so stop now!)  No.  I don’t.  I want to play poker for a living (as if I’m good enough).  I want my wife to receive a flag at my funeral and be thanked for my service to the country.  I want to be in a band.  I want to be an excellent marksman.  I want to find a deodorant that isn’t the white crap that gets all over everything but still works.  I want Transformers 2 to come out now so I don’t have to wait.  The list could go on and on.  You know.  I’m sure there are things on your list, too (assuming I’m not the only person in the world that likes cool stuff). What Happens In Vegas…

vegas-night

or at least on the way to Vegas doesn’t necessarily stay in Vegas, but it sure makes for a crazy trip!  As you may already know, this past weekend was our 1st anniversary.  Yes!  One whole year!  She really must be crazy.  Well, since we moved so close we figured that we should celebrate in style and head out to the land where everyone has the opportunity to get rich quick!…well that or lose everything you own in a matter of minutes.  Well, the saying is “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, but I believe “I would be doing myself a disservice and every member of this band”…I mean blog (sorry got a little side tracked with the cowbell) if I didn’t tell you all this story. Wipeout Update

Muddy Girl Wiping Out On Wipeout

So, I just talked with the Associate Producer for Wipeout.  They are almost done shooting for this season, but they are shooting tomorrow.  He said if they don’t use me this season, then they will next.  So that’s good.  But, they are shooting tomorrow and they need me to be an alternate.  So, the time may be here!  Only problem is that I have to be there at 6 AM!  WHAT????  I didn’t know there was a 6 AM!  Crap.  Oh, and it is forever away from me so I will have to get up at like 4.  Good grief.  I better get on tomorrow!

Anyone got any pointers for me?  One liners?  Ideas in general?  Bring ‘em on!

The Fake Big Day(s)

Well, ladies and gentlemen, somehow we actually made it to the big day…of course if we are being honest it isn’t really the big day.  It’s actually just the day before the big day and then the day after the big day but minus the big day.  Confused yet?  I am! (more…)
