10 Random Topics To Write About

Sometimes blogging is easy.  Sometimes it just flows from life or what I’m learning.  Other times it is a bit more difficult.  Once you make the commitment to blog every day, those days when the writing doesn’t come so naturally make a bigger difference because you can’t just go back to playing Words With Friends and say “maybe I’ll blog tomorrow”.  This post was born out of one of those days.  Well, kinda.  Actually, I just wasn’t in the mood to think of something spiritual or funny so I decided to ask my wife what I should blog about.  The following is the first 10 things she told me to blog about.  Instead if blogging about one of them, I am using them all.

  • My wife is still pregnant.
  • We got a new car yesterday.
  • Baby bibs don’t fit around her neck.
  • How much I love where I live.
  • How much chocolate milk she has consumed in the last 9 months.
  • How cute the little Venezuela t-shirt for the baby is.
  • How much her body hurts.
  • How cute our dog is (even though he can’t control his bladder, he is the sweetest thing).
  • How she agrees with Rachel from Friends. She has never been this uncomfortable in her entire life.
  • Do you think if we just go to the hospital and fake contractions they will take the baby out?

So there you go.  Next time you are in need of a good blog topic, there is what my wife says to write about…of course it probably won’t do you any good to use this list unless your wife is pregnant and overdue, you have just purchased a car, you happen to have someone get you a gift t-shirt from Venezuela, you absolutely love where you live, or you have a very cute dog.  But if all that fits where you happen to be, then by all means, help yourself!

Bad Internet And No Labor

Well, we’re having some issues with “our” Internet at the house for some reason so I am blogging today from my iPhone. Therefore it will not be extremely long today, but I wanted to give you all an update on our baby situation. We are truckin’ along at 40 weeks and 6 days now and Little Baby James is still all curled up and comfy inside my wonderful preggo. KK is doing far better than I would have. We are learning patience and God’s timing through this whole ordeal, too.

It hasn’t been the easiest thing in the world, but we are resting in the fact that there is a perfect plan am a perfect person in control of it all. We are bummed for the family that they didn’t get to see our little girl as soon as she arrives, but we have been very blessed to get to have them all here. We are so thankful that they all had the ability to come out and even more so the desire to be a part! I don’t ever want to take that for granted.

So as we are closing up week 41, thank you foe your prayers and encouragement. This little one will be here really soon since we will be taking her out toward the end of week 42 if she doesn’t decide to take the trip on her own. She will be here and our lives will never be the same. Funny how that used to seem so crazy and now as we are days away from it I can’t wait! (minus the not sleeping much ever again part). Thanks again for your prayers. Please keep them coming and we will give you some more updates as we get closer and then have the pleasure of showing off our little baby and her new name to the world!

Sunday Expectations

Seems like January is just flying by!  We only have a few weeks left until my wife is home preparing for the final stretch of baby cooking!  And then a few more weeks and my baby girl will be here!  Wow.  That is pretty soon.  But for this week, we still have some good stuff.  Here’s what I’m looking forward to this week.

  • Sunday we are continuing in the book of John and rocking out to Revelation Song again!  I can’t get enough of that song!
  • More stories of people still being found alive in the destruction in Haiti!
  • I’ve been saying this for a couple weeks now, but this week we are launching a new part of brookjames.com.  It’s really gonna happen this time!
  • Basketball has been cancelled for this week so I have gained an extra night with the wife!
  • I just might buy a couple iPhone apps.
  • While reading through my YouVersion daily readings through Matthew, Luke and John, I have started a few blog posts that I am excited about.  Love thinking through the Scriptures and getting my thoughts all written out.

Should be a great week.  Hope you are expecting a great week, too!

100 Days Of Writing

This is officially the 100th day in a row for me to write here.  I actually made it that far!  I decided back in October it was time to step it up and take this blogging thing to the next level.  I would say that blogging for 100 straight days is doing that.  I didn’t think I would actually write every day for this long, but I have loved seeing God do some cool stuff all over (including my own head) through this.

I have no intention of letting up.  I believe that God has more in store for me and I believe that this site will be a tool for that.  I don’t know what that will look like in the future.  I have lots of ideas and thoughts.  But we will see.  God knows what’s up.  So, here’s to 100 straight days.  Thank you all for being a part by reading and adding your thoughts!  From here, God, it’s all Yours!
